The final week of the 2026 MLB regular season is underway, and there is still plenty to be decided before October baseball begins.
At the top, the Milwaukee Brewers enter the stretch at 98–58, while the Los Angeles Dodgers sit at 96–60 and the Tampa Bay Rays at 95–60. All three have already secured postseason baseball, but positioning and the road through October are still on the line.
The Yankees have also punched their ticket, but New York enters the week trying to lock down its place in the American League playoff picture.
Then there are the teams with almost no room for error.
Cleveland enters the week at 81–75 and riding a five-game winning streak, while several teams remain involved in the final battles for postseason positioning. One bad series can change everything.
That’s what makes the final week different.
Every pitching decision matters. Every late-inning mistake gets magnified. And for teams still fighting for October, there’s no longer enough time to simply “get them tomorrow.”
Tonight’s schedule adds even more intrigue. Tampa Bay visits the Yankees, Cleveland faces Boston, Milwaukee takes on Philadelphia, and the Dodgers host San Diego.
